Hi!  I’m Deirdre, Wife, Mother, Virtual Assistant, Quilter, Gardener. . . and whatever else God has planned for me.

Welcome to my  sewing room!

I’ve been quilting for over 20 years and have a great heritage of quilters in my family. I am blessed to have sat with my great grandmother as she quilted although at the time I didn’t realize what a treasure it was. My grandmother was never far away from her basket of blocks to piece together and we had fun looking at her great fabric stash.

My precious mother was the one that taught me to sew.  She took time while I was a child to make sure that I knew the fine art of needlework.  She taught me how to embroider, to knit, crochet, cross stitch, sew clothing and the best. . .  to quilt.  The first quilt I made was an oversized queen log cabin using the Quilt in a day method.  It was so much fun and I couldn’t believe that we finished it in just one day!

Mom has since gone to live with Jesus but the treasure of her lessons in quilting and in life will live as long as I pass it along to my daughters and nieces.

More about my life outside of quilting. . . If there is life outside of quilting. . .
I’ve been working virtually for years and love the fact that I can be home with my children and still have an interesting job. I can go to my local quilt guild meeting then pop over to the library and check in with my clients then pick up my children from school.
