My daughter and I started this quilt early this year by taking a Mystery Quilt class taught by my local quilt guild The Nine Patchers. We both pieced it, I machine quilted it with my Bernina, my wonderful sister helped me get the binding started.  I began the hand stitching of the binding and my daughter finished it.

I made a label  on my computer and stitched it to the back of the quilt. I chose a daisy fabric for the backing since Jessica loves daisies.

Now I’m ready to get started working on a Fish Quilt for my fisherman son. (he’s 10)

Happy Quilting!

PS. Ignore the date on the picture, my date is wrong.

I’ve had a fun few months! I was able to travel to Phoenix, Arizona to attend a Virtual Assistant Convention. This trip was  beneficial in many ways for my business  and loads of  fun but the highlight of my trip was getting to meet my long time friend from Australia. We had never met in person so we were both so excited to actually get to hug each other.

On our last day in Arizona we decided at the last minute to take a trip to see the Grand Canyon. (Note to self and others: check the weather before you go and dress accordingly) We had a fun time but just about froze to death because we weren’t dressed for the cold temperatures at that elevation.

I also had the privilege to attend 2 quilting retreats with my local quilt guild. The Nine Patchers you can visit their website here. http://ninepatchers.wordpress.com/ (by the way, I designed this site too). We had a fabulous time and got loads of sewing done. We stayed up sewing till the wee hours of the morning then got up just a few hours later to sew some more.

My sewing projects:

My daughter and made a lap quilt for her, just need to quilt a bit more on the borders then put the binding on it. I had a quilt quilted by Gina www.precisionquilting.com that my mother and I made many years ago. I’m loving sleeping under it!

What are you working on? I’d love to know!

Till next time

Happy Quilting!
