I’m Deirdre Barnes, founder of Atypical Business, LLC. Since 2006, I’ve had the pleasure of helping entrepreneurs, established businesses, and organizations build the systems they need to run their businesses and connect with their customers.
I’m a GoHighLevel Certified Admin and Certified Course Creator, a Keap/Infusionsoft Certified Partner, WordPress developer, and digital marketing specialist. I’ve worked with Keap/Infusionsoft since 2009 and earned my certification in 2016.
Over the past 20 years, I’ve worked with some incredible people and organizations, from independent business owners and authors to companies providing professional training and education on a national and international scale.
What I love most is getting to know how a business operates, understanding what its owners want to accomplish, and figuring out how to make the technology work for them.
The People Behind Atypical Business
While I’m the founder of Atypical Business, I certainly don’t do everything alone!
Tracy is my wonderful sister and a Keap Certified Partner. She’s also experienced with WordPress and is an excellent copywriter. She has a gift for finding just the right words to communicate a message and connect with an audience.
Jessica is a Keap Certified Partner who also works extensively with GoHighLevel, building automated workflows and managing CRM systems. She works directly with clients to help them manage their technology and keep their business operations running smoothly. She’s also experienced with WordPress and manages the weekly production and publishing of podcast episodes for one of our clients. Jessica enjoys the hands-on work of keeping all those moving pieces working together.
We also have a small network of talented professionals we can call on when a project needs additional expertise.

Over the years, we’ve sent more than a million emails, built thousands of website pages, created marketing campaigns, and helped our clients manage the technology behind their businesses.
And we’re still learning! Technology changes, new opportunities come along, and we’re always interested in finding better ways to help the people we work with.
How It All Began
My dream of owning a business began back in 1996. Ten years later, in 2006, I made that dream a reality when I started Atypical Business.
I had no idea how many wonderful people I’d meet along the way or how much the world of online business would change.
What hasn’t changed is how much I enjoy this work. There’s something incredibly rewarding about seeing a client’s idea come together, watching a new system do exactly what we designed it to do, and celebrating when their business succeeds.
After 20 years, I still get excited about that!
